About us
Felastec GmbH specializes in material processing using laser technologies
With a clear focus on quality and precision, Felastec offers solutions in the fields of laser welding, laser cutting and laser drilling.
The company was founded in Gümligen/Bern in November 1998. In the first few years of business, the company almost exclusively produced medical implants – so-called stents that support narrowed coronary arteries – using laser cutting. Due to demand for other applications, Felastec further expanded its laser services and became a partner for small and tricky laser applications in various industries.
With the change of ownership at the beginning of 2017, laser services were established alongside laser applications, serving another industry sector with the areas of spare parts and mechanical engineering. In order to meet the new requirements, Felastec GmbH moved to Unterseen at the end of 2017.
Today, the company processes a wide range of products with different laser sources.
With our laser technologies and laser services, we serve customers in Switzerland and neighboring countries. In the area of services, we help customers all over the world with specialist knowledge, spare parts and laser systems.
The laser light – It is more than just a simple beam of light; it is a marvel of technology, the result of decades of research and discovery. Technology shows us how important it is to remain curious and constantly question the limits of what is possible.
We look forward to your tasks.
We work for these sectors
Medical technology
Manufacturing of devices for the medical industry
Do you need to develop a new medical device? We have extensive experience in manufacturing medical devices and building quality assured processes. Felastec was founded in 1996 as one of the first laser job stores for cutting stents.
Watch industry
High-precision setting rings and dials
Thanks to the precision and flexibility of the laser, manufacturers of jewelry and watches have many design options. The laser as a tool cuts and welds components for high-quality watches, for example.
Electrical industry
Insulating ceramics for precision electronics
The laser can be used to cost-effectively cut geometries for the production of ceramic insulation components in electronics
Aviation
Lasers as a tool for turbines and compressors
Lamp-pumped solid-state lasers can be used to quickly create cooling holes for turbines or compressors, for example. The laser is also an excellent tool for welding explosive parts, as only very small amounts of energy penetrate the material
Automotive engineering
Electric drive or gasoline engine?
Sheet metal geometries for rotors in electric motors, breakage cutting of connecting rods for consumer engines or markings for the dashboard.
Energy
Energy for the future
The laser is very useful in the thermosolar industry, as different materials are normally welded together. Copper and copper-beryllium for high-current connections are just a few examples.
Machinery industry
Filters, grippers or control panels
With over 500 holes per second, filters for oil and water can be produced quickly with the right laser. Laser cutting with an accuracy of up to +/- 0.005 mm is possible with our machines, and if you need higher accuracy, we can also pre-drill holes for EDM cutting.
Research and development
Industrial design or electronics development
We are happy to support students at universities and universities of applied sciences in developing and producing objects independently in a safe environment. Prototypes for innovative research projects are produced quickly, easily and safely.
